Sketch Saturday and One Stop Craft Challenges

Hello! Here's another spring time card I've made using my lovely new stamps from Flourishes. (From the Garden) LOVE these stamps! The sketch is for the Sketch Saturday Challenge (a very fun sketch) and the theme is for the challenge at One Stop Craft: Let it shine. The shiney portion of my card is the the orange paper behind my stamp. Its from DCWV's Citrus pack. It is very shiney and sparkly! The DP I've used is Basic Grey Two Scoops: Dreamsicle. The pink paper is CoreDinations Love Potion. I've used Copics to color my stamp and two flower brads with a gem in the middle to accent the green strip (which I Cuttlebugged with Swiss Dots)
Thank you for looking today!

Friday Sketcher and Secret Crafters Saturday Challenges

Hi there. I've made a card using the sketch from Friday Sketchers. It's a really fun sketch! And the them for Secret Crafters Saturday Challenge is Spring, so this card fits for this as well! I've used one of my new stamps from my Flourishes prize package, Flourishes from the Garden. Isn't it pretty? I love this stamp! I stamped it in Memento's Tuxedo Black and then heat embossed it with Ranger's Enchanted God and it gave the ink a shimmery copper color. So I used some copper paper behind it to accent it. I've used the Copics in the picture for my potted flowers. The blue paper is by Die Cuts with a view in Robin, such a yummy color! It's been a while since I've placed eyelets on a card, so it was fun to do this and then I used some twine to tie the bows. Thanks for looking!

Jazzy Paper Designs Inspiration Challenge #5

This week, Jazzy Paper Designs is featuring Kenny Dorham's Trompeta Toccata, recorded in 1964. Kenny was an an American jazz trumpeter, singer, and composer. (1924 to 1972). Universally admired and respected by his peers and fellow trumpeters, Dorham worked with every major figure of the modern jazz movement--Billy Eckstine, Dizzy Gillespie, Art Blakey, Bud Powell, Charlie Parker, Thelonious Monk and Max Roach. He was only 48 when he died of medical problems. There is now a "school" of Dorham trumpet playing. Here is a sample of his music on YouTube.

Aren't the colors of this album fun?!?! I have to admit, I wasn't too sure if I could pull it off, but I am happy with the combo after all! To make the Dahlia, I cased a card I found on Becca Feeken's blog. (She is soooo amazing) And Here is where you can find the instructions to make your own Dahlia. The sentiment is by Hero Arts. The center of my Dahlia is made with pretty pieces by Taylored Expressions.
Be sure to join in on the fun this week! We have a wonderful prize offering to the winner sponsored by one of our talented DT members, Betty!

Our Daily Bread 2nd Anniversary Celebration Challenge: Day 4: Favorites

Today's challenge at ODB is to use your favorite stamp. Well, I love all of their stamps, but only own a couple. So, I have chosen two stamps from their "Quiet Waters" set. I was inspired by Connie McCotter's beautiful card and attempted to copy it. Somehow, my card emerged into my first wall hanging. I think it turned out okay. I'm going to give it to my best friend's husband who is turning 50 this weekend. I love the song that uses this scripture verse. You can hear it if you scroll down to my play list and select #197. I hand copied the words onto the back of this hanging. In one photo, you can see that I've used some Stickles to add sparkle to the water (sorry the photo is blurry). I've used Copics to color this. Thank you for stopping by. Thank you and Happy Anniversary to ODBD!! God bless your day.

Our Daily Bread 2nd Anniversary Challenge: Day Three: Silver or Gold

Silver and Gold are the traditional gifts for those special milestones in a marriage... the 25th and 50th Anniversaries. Today's challenge on ODB is to make a project that includes silver and/ or gold. I have chosen Gold and created the card with a particular song in mind. I've used one of ODB's stamps from their You are the Potter set and used Copics to color it. I used nesties for each panel. I found this pretty ribbon in my stash that matches quite nicely. The song is featured on the inside of the card. This song, Refiner's Fire, is one of my very favorites. If you'd like to hear it, scroll down to my playlist and select #107. Thanks for stopping by. Hope you are blessed today.

Our Daily Bread 2nd Anniversary Challenge: Day two: china

The "contemporary" gift for the second anniversary is CHINA. ODB has an Inspiration Challenge that involves "CHINA" today. I have done a teapot and cup/saucer. The teapot is done in Iris Folding and the cup/saucer is cut out and then a photo of the pancy print behind it. The pattern was created by Ingrid from New Zealand. I layered Nesties fro the sentiment (computer generated) and used a piece of vellum to make the tea-bag pocket. I outlined the pot and c/s with a copic marker and used a gold Uni-Ball pin around the c/s, to reflect the gold rim on so many china pieces. Purple is my favorite color, so I enjoyed using lots of it here. The piece is rather large at 7.25" X 7.25". I think I may frame it without glass and allow the recepient to hang it in her kitchen and replace the teabag whenever she wants to.

Thanks for stopping by. God bless your day!

Our Daily Bread 2nd Anniversary Challenge: Day one: Cotton

Today, ODB is starting their 5 days of their 2nd Anniversay celebration. The challenge today is to use cotton in your project. Cotton is a traditional gift for a second anniversary. For my card, I used a piece of cotton fabric as a curtain. I gathered it by sewing the top of the fabric first and sandwiched it between papers. My DP is from DCWV's sweet stack. My sentiment on the inside is by Hero Arts Birtday frames. I used a nestie for the tag and the window. I'll be sending this to my daughter-in-law for her birthday. She loves both pink and chocolate, so I think this card is appropriate for her! Here's hoping for a chance to win some beautiful ODB stamps!
Thank you for stopping by!

Jazzy Paper Designs Challenge #4

Hi there! This weeks challege at Jazzy Paper Designs is inspired by the album cover: The Sidewinder by Lee Morgan, pictured above. Lee Morgan was a leading jazz trumpeter and composer. He recorded up until a day before his death in 1972 at the age of 33 in NYC. He was a member of the Dizzie Gillispie Band at age 18 and later recorded 25 albums, working with 250 musicians during his short life. Here's an audio clip of his song Sidewinder if you'd care to listen. It is really quite moving.

The flower stamp is Penny Black "Clique" which I've attached pearls to the middle of. The sentiment is also by Penny Black. I punched the flowers around the front window and added gems. The sentiment is on the inside of the card. I like how it turned out. I'm going to give it to my best friend Teresa in PA. The sentiment makes me think of her. Thoughts of her truly do fill the garden of my life!

Thanks for Stopping by and please: enter the Challenge this week and earn a chance to win a wonderful prize offered by one of our DT members, Janice!

I {heart} to stamp Challenge

I've used the sketch for last weeks challenge on Jen delMuro's blog. It's a birthday card for one of my son's nurses. The stamps are Inkadinkado's Gem Stone Flowers and Insects. I colored them with Copics, sprayed them with tattered angels glimmer mist. Then I cut them out and popped them up. Hope you like it. My nurse loves butterflies.

Thanks for visiting me today!
