A wonderful tutorial

I came across this amazing tutorial for a post-it holder by Liza. Her blog is called Pink Candy Stripes. I can't wait to try one of these. Isn't it so cute?

Three Challenges: Charisma Cardz #23 and CPS 120 and Simon Says

Here's a birthday card I'm going to give to a little 7year old girl today. The challenge for Charisma Cardz is "Diamonds are a girls best friend" which is very fun for me, because I love sparkles. The card has lots of Frosted Lace Stickles accents and the cuttlebugged piece is actually on shiny silver paper, which may be hard to tell on the pic. I also used a sparkly black Sakura Jelly roll pen to go over the cupcake stamp and sentiment. The sketch is based on thechallenge for CPS, found here:
The challenge on Simon Says is Birthdays, so this works well!

The stamps are from Hero Arts birthday frame pack. I used Martha Stewart border punch for the pink strips. I cut the cupcake stamp out to make it 3D.

Thanks for looking, have a blessed day!

Stamptacular Sunday Challenge #11

This is my first entry on this fun blog. They have a great DT and lots of fun challenges. This weeks challenge is Father's Day. I made this card for my husband. It says Happy Father's day on the inside. He is a guitar player and songwriter. He's awesome! (See him in the picture) I got the sketch from a freebie site. It's made by Tracy Drane. Can you tell that this is a guitar? (kinda abstract) In the middle of the guitar, I pasted words to a song that my husband wrote for me. We actually had the song produced last year by a wonderful singer/songwriter named Randy Stonehill. We didn't have the funds to finish the CD project, but this one sounds really great! I've basically paper pieced the rest of the card, and used gold embellies around the center circle.

Thanks for looking!

3 challenges in one: Created by Hand, Our Creative Corner and One Stop Craft challenge

Hi! I've been absent for a bit due to busy family commitments and visitors.

Here's a card that fits 3 challenges this week. It's a wedding card for friends of ours who are getting married on Saturday. We're excited for them because it's a mid-life, second chance at love couple! Those are so fun! I didn't think I'd ever get married! I was 35 when I finally found my prince. (I sure got tired of frogs)

I used parts of the wedding announcement to make the cake on the card. Their wedding colors are black, white and ivory, so I stayed with those colors. The challenge on Created by Hand was our choice this week. (love that!) The border punch is a Martha Stewart punch (Our Creative Corner Challenge: ) I've used Stickles glitter on the cake and the embellishment (One Stop Craft Challenge #33: ) The flower is a paper flower and the middle of the flower is also from their announcement.

thanks for stopping by!
