Midnight Madness Stamp Challenge #3

There's a great blog that's fairly new called Priscillas styles. They host a weekly challenge called Midnight Madness. They have a huge prize this week. The DT makes awesome cards and they award you with the cutest label. Here is my design for this weeks sketch.

My DIL is about 16weeks preggers now, so this card will be sent to her.

I used an A Muse stamp, colored with Copices, paper pieced the bundle the stork is carrying, Heidi Grace is the striped paper. Buttons, a heart charm, ribbon and stickles for embellishments. Thanks for looking!

I found a really fun card making blog!

Just wanted to pass this along. I came across this really clever blog that features Movies each week. The DT makes some incredible creations!!

Here's a sample card from the movie Charlie and the Chocolate Factory: (scan down to see the quilling)

A new Challenge blog and DT Call!

Here is my entry for the design team call at a really cute blog called Nutshells. Clever and fun name, huh? The stamped image was a freebie from them with a sketch to follow. The stamp is oh so cute, isn't it? I really had fun with the sketch too, though it was a challenge to find so many papers to go together well. BUT, with Basic Grey to the rescue, I think I've come up with a pretty flattering design for this great image.

I am a Guest Designer! on CCC

I am so excited to have the chance to be a guest designer! This is my first time. So I am very grateful to the very talented Design Team at Crafty Creations for giving me this opportunity. The theme for this week's challenge is butterflies. My butterfly on the front of my card is an origami fold. Then there are two bookmarks inside. One has a Nestie butterfly and the other has small punched butterflies. I've used origami papers throughout the card and some oriental peeloffs. Take a look at the beautiful creations that the DT came up with!

Thanks again Deena!!

Are you a Doer or a Dreamer?

Here's my results:

You Are a Doer

You are primarily concerned with what is actual. You tend to be a practical person.

You love to stay busy, and you are always immersed in projects.

You are in touch with your senses, and you enjoy indulging them. You're likely a crafter of some sort.

You crave different sensations in life, whether it's working with your hands, playing sports, or eating your favorite meal.

Weekend Sketch Challenge #81 and One Stop Craft Challenge #29

This was a great sketch to do by Charmaine! And the One Stop Challenge was to use the colors pink and brown (love that combo!)Here's the link to One Stop: http://onestopcraftchallenge.blogspot.com/2009/05/one-stop-craft-challenge-29.html

I've made a Get Well card for a special freind of mine who had emergency surgery.

I used the cuttlebug for one panel. I printed some encouraging scriptures on the tan paper and blotted the edges with Tim Holtz Distress ink Tea. The flower is a combo of Bazzill and a kit from Taylored Expressions. I got this pretty ribbon from Hobby Lobby. The sentiment is a gold peel off. What do you think? Thanks for looking.

Card Positioning Systems #116

Great sketch this week on CPS! Here is a card I made for my Dad who had shoulder surgery today. The image is by DJ Inkers, colored with Copics. I hand wrote the sentiment. I used Cuttlebug folders for two of the papers. The hanging pine are punched from Martha Stewart's fern punch. The card base is craft paper. I love mooses! do you like?

Basic Grey challenge #35

Here is my card inspired by the Basic Grey challenge this week, which was to use ice cream in your design or use colors from your favorite flavor. Well, I just got this stamp from Stamps Happen, so I was tickled to use it. Isn't it fun? I colored the ice cream with Copics and used stickles as accents. I've used BG papers from the Sultry line which go perfectly with this! I used Bazzill Shimmer paper for the card base. I think I'll use the card for a birthday, but I'm not sure yet. What do you think?

Dutch Dare challenge #48

This was a color combo challenge. Use blue and white and one other color. Here's my card using Blue, White and Mustard. The white card stock is Bazzill shimmer, I used some ribbon and gems. The image is from a free zone, I made it into a 3D. I'm going to use it as an anniversary card for my sister. She loves Blue and white together. Her whole house is blue and white!

Thanks for looking. All comments are welcome.

Copics Color Challenge #13 and Color Throwdown #42

This card is for two challenges. The link above will take you to the Copics Color Challenge and here is the link for the Color Throwdown: http://colorthrowdown.blogspot.com/2009/05/color-throwdown-42.html

I love the sketch from Copics and the colors for the Color Throwdown were awesome together! I'm going to use that combo more often!

My Stamped image is a Penny Black's Garden Poems stamp. Copic colors I used are: B04 and G24. The sentiment is from the Craft Lounge's In His Name clear stamp set. I used Black Stickles around the border. The patterned paper is by My Minds Eye: Kaleidoscope Blues. The flowers are from the Bazzill collection: The Flower Box. They are so pretty!

Hope you like it. Let me know what you think.

Jazzy Inspriations Challenge #11

Hi. I was really inspired by the Jazzy challenge this week. The featured jazz album is a Charlie Parker album. I've made my card in honor of one of the songs he plays on his album, "Summertime" by George Gershwin. This is a long-standing favorite of mine. Years ago, as a young woman, I took voice lessons. "Summertime" was one of my favorites. I didn't realize how much I would come to appreciate music like this down the road. I hope you enjoy my card. I have made my own embellishments, mostly by copying images from the internet and cutting, coloring and pasting them. I printed part of the musical score for the song as part of the card.

Our Creative Corner

Here is my entry for this week's challenge, it's a card for my mother-in-law. The stamp is by Stamps Happen. It's colored with Copics. I cut out the ovals myself. Used some stickles around the edge of the image and a peel-off for the sentiment. Thanks for looking!
