A card for 4 Challenges

I made a card to fit 4 different challenges! I really enjoyed putting it all together. Stamp Simply's challenge #126 was to use purple and green. (My favorite color is purple!) The Sketch is from I {heart} to stamp (a great sketch that I'm sure to use again), Stamping Sisters in Christ's #26 challenge is to let someone know how much God loves them, based on I John 4: 10 "This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins." They are giving a really cute Simon Says stamp set to the winner. And at Fred She Said, the challenge is to use one of Tracey's digis (she has lots of awesome freebies) on your creation. She is giving a $20 voucher to her store to the winner!

I used one of FSS's freebie digital flowers. I copied it 4 times on regular paper. I colored each blossom with watercolor pencils and blended with lavendar oil. (first time I ever tried this technique. Usually people use mineral oil, but I didn't have any. The lavendar worked nicely.) I used Copic marker to color the background of the medallion and along the edges of each petal. The ivory card base is Bazzil Shimmer paper, the dark purple green papers are from DCSW shimmer stack. I cuttlebugged the green panel. I wrote the sentiment on Tinsley by EK Success.

I love this color combo! I hope that this card will bless someone needing to know how much God cares about them.

Thank you for visiting me!

Crafts for Eternity, Our Daily Bread, and Saturday Spotlight Challenges

Hi. Here is a fun card that I made for three challenges: Crafts for Eternitywhich is a recipe challenge offering a mini card kit for the winner, Our Daily Bread: where you need to use red or pink and some bling and offering a $15 gift certificate for ODB stamps (which I would LOVE to win), and Saturday Spotlight: whose challenge is to use a household item to make your card. They are giving 4 digi's from Victoria Case as a prize.

Here is my card recipe:
The zebra is a chipboard from Debbie Mumm's Noah's ark, the polka dot paper is from Paper Studio, I've cuttlebugged the red panel and used a Spare Parts jumbo flower for bling. (I colored a pearl with a Copic marker and added tiny pearls around it.)The green panel paper is by Francis Meyer. I used a Spellbinders die for the red panel on the outside and the black one on the inside. I wrote the sentiment by hand. Now for the fun part: For a household item, I used two swimsuit bra hooks (Dritz) on the front with the striped ribbon through it. and then, most of you will recognize the bra extender on the inside.

I'm going to give this card to my sister-in-law who is quite buxom! I, on the other hand, am not! Hopefully, this card will not seem off-color to anyone. I hope it makes you smile instead.

Have a great day!

Jazzy Paper Designs Inspirations Challenge #3

This weeks inspiration comes from Ornette Coleman's CD cover. Ornette Coleman (born in 1930) is an American saxophonist, violinist, trumpeter and composer. He was one of the major innovators of the free jazz movement of the 1960s. Check out the challenge blog for a link to hear a sample of his music.

SIMPLE DOODLES DIGIS is our gracious sponsor this week. I have used two of their stamps on my card: the heart and the sentiment. Trish will be giving 3 digi stamps of your choice if you win the challenge! So, come and play with us, we'd love to have you!

I used my new Spellbinders Fleur De Lis Pendant to frame the heart. Notice the white in the background? It's the Colorado snow!

Thank you for visiting me today, have a blessed day!

Hi. I've made this card for my neices birthday using the theme from Flourishes this week. (favorite drink) They are offering three of their new release sets! I would love to win!!!

My favorite drink is eggnog with a little bit of Bailey's Irish Cream, and a dash of cinnamon!

The design for my card is based on a card I saw in the recent paper Crafts magazine. The designer is Maile Belles. I've used embroidery thread and a button for embellishment. I used Versamark to emboss the green and burgandy patches, and the DP on the bottom left is by Jillibean. Very simple, with a terrific result!!
